I am Nangoh Esong Sharon Bake-Njie, a dynamic and dedicated workshop participant hailing from the beautiful South West Region of Cameroon. With an unwavering passion for social development and an academic background in Anthropology and Sociology, I am committed to making a positive impact in my community and beyond.
My academic journey has been one of continuous learning and growth. I completed my Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Buea in 2021, and I am currently pursuing a Master of Science (MSc) in Anthropology at the same institution. This educational foundation has equipped me with a deep understanding of human behavior and societal dynamics, which I aim to apply practically in my work and community service.
My commitment to social causes is evident in my extensive volunteer work with organizations such as Family World International (FAWOI) Cameroon and the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Foundation (LUKMEF) Cameroon. At FAWOI, I have been actively involved in health initiatives, economic empowerment programs, educational support, and providing housing for internally displaced persons. Through LUKMEF, I contributed to data collection and awareness campaigns against gender-based violence in Buea and Kumba. These experiences have enriched my understanding of community needs and allowed me to actively engage in addressing pressing issues.
In addition to my volunteer work, I had the opportunity to intern at the District Hospital Kumba (DHK) in the HIV and AIDS unit, where I administered tests, educated patients on prevention and treatment, and recorded treatment calendars. This hands-on experience reinforced my commitment to health education and advocacy, particularly for women and children.
My skill set extends beyond my academic and volunteer work. I possess proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, web browsing, and social networking. Furthermore, I am multilingual, with fluency in English and West African Pidgin, basic knowledge of French, and proficiency in my native language, Lifaw.
As a workshop participant, I am eager to learn, collaborate, and exchange ideas with fellow participants and experts. My goal is to harness the knowledge and experiences gained through this workshop to further enhance my ability to drive positive change in my community and contribute to the betterment of society.
I look forward to this enriching learning experience and the opportunity to connect with likeminded individuals who share my dedication to social progress and community development.
Let’s embark on this transformative journey together and make a lasting impact!
